Sanjay Kumar Verma
Founder and Editor
With around 30 years of experience in cooperative development, Sanjay Kumar Verma worked as Advisor in National Cooperative Union of India, an apex organization of the Indian Cooperative movement based in Delhi. He also headed Publications/PR Division in National Cooperative Union of India( NCUI) before his retirement. Presently, he is working as Advisor in National Film and Fine Arts Cooperative (NAFFAC).During his stay in NCUI, under “Coop Connect’ Program, he played a pivotal role in popularizing cooperative model among the educational institutions.
With MPhil in International Relations from JNU, he has more than 100 publications to his credit in national and international journals, besides writing articles for leading dailies of India. He is author of three books- ‘Cooperative Growth and Trends’,‘ Public Relations, Media and Cooperatives’; and ‘Introspect, Explore and Enrich Yourself.” Presently, a member of Research Committee of International Cooperative Alliance Regional Office for Asia-Pacific(ICA-AP), he has been an active presenter at ICA-AP Research Conferences held in India and other countries. Having worked in ICA-AP for some time, he was also associated as Consultant with New Harmony Press, UK for a long time, which published International Journal of Cooperative Management. Presently, he is on the Editorial Board of International Journal of Cooperative Management and Accounting, a journal published by Sobey Business School, Canada.
He has a long training/teaching experience in reputed institutions like NCCE(a training wing of NCUI), JNU,LINAC, IIMC, IGNOU, Delhi University, etc with focus on subjects like cooperative sectoral trends, communications, media, PR, journalism, career and entrepreneurial opportunities in cooperatives , etc.
Komal Gupta
Director-Policy and Strategy
Komal Gupta is an economist and policy strategist specialising in cooperative sector development, governance reform, and institutional capacity building. She currently serves as Director-Policy and Strategy at Coop Talks, where she contributes to shaping policy discourse, strategic direction, and sectoral engagement for India’s cooperative ecosystem.
She is the Founder and Principal Consultant at Konsult Komal, advising governments, regulators, public institutions, and industry bodies on evidence-based policy design, regulatory strategy, and institutional reforms. Her work spans cooperative modernisation, financial inclusion, digital public infrastructure, rural livelihoods, and stakeholder communications in regulated sectors.
Komal is also a Director at Knowledgebliss Pvt Ltd, where she is involved in building knowledge-driven advisory platforms focused on public policy, institutional engagement, and strategic research.
Her policy work has involved close engagement with regulators, including RBI and SEBI, and she regularly contributes to the NCUI Magazine, strengthening national discourse on cooperative governance. Her research and commentary have featured in The Cooperator, Indian Cooperative, Dainik Bhaskar, and policy-focused platforms.
A recognised voice in institutional reform, her policy brief on the National Cooperation Policy 2025 received acknowledgement from Shri Suresh Prabhu, reflecting her contribution to cooperative policy thinking. With earlier experience in policy journalism at Mint and Hindustan Times, and fintech policy advocacy at NASSCOM, Komal brings a rare combination of regulatory insight, communication expertise, and strategic clarity. At Coop Talks, she works to strengthen India’s cooperative institutions in alignment with the vision of Viksit Bharat.
